Sunday, March 6

oh happy day.

I know that nobody wants to read a negative blog post ... Which is a HUGE reason I was MIA yesterday ... I had a terrible, horrible, no good day!

I did get an ENORMOUS pick me up yesterday evening though ... It started with a giveaway and ended with a winner ... ME!!!

Megan from Across the Pond hosted a giveaway for this GORG necklace by In Honor of Design! And I was the LUCKY winner! :)

WOOOHOOO!

Today is a new day, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day! :)

I'm going to spend some time today planning my garden! I know I've said it before but I am so excited to plant this season's veggie garden! I need to do some research for my Spring crops though ... First time for me! :)

Here's what I'm thinking of trying: {ahhh!}
~ broccoli
  ~ kale
~ spinach
~ carrots
~ beets
~ potatoes

And that's just for Spring y'all! Oh I'm so excited! :)

I'm going to leave y'all with this picture ...

That is my 101 year old GREAT grandfather Skyping with my youngest sister in Mexico! How awesome {and cute!} is that?!!? Ahhh, technology how I love thee! :)

Happy Sunday Y'all!

gardening... townhouse style

So remember a WHILE ago I was talking about my garden?!?or I guess then it was my future garden!

Well y'all I must say, this little lady has developed a serious green thumb! I had to plant EVERYTHING in containers because our STRICT (and annoying!) HOA says NOTHING can go in the ground that their landscapers don't plant! Well, okkkkkk with me because check this out....

This is my squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, and some flowers!

And on the other side: 3 different peppers, herbs, and more flowers!

Look at the basil in the bottom left corner... Time to make some pesto!!

Spring!!!

Ok, Ok maybe I'm exaggerating... But it was gorgeous in Charleston today! (Could have been slightly less windy and maybe a little warmer, but beggers can't be choosers!)

So Tux (our dog) and I spent much of the afternoon outside planning our garden! After all, it's about time to start planting some seeds. Bryan and I live in a townhouse and our EXTREMELY strict HOA says that we can't plant ANYTHING in our yards... I don't usually complain because they do all the upkeep in our yard but I do love fresh veggies in the summer. So last year, I planted some peppers, tomatoes, lettuces, and herbs all in containers and let me tell you... I was VERY happy with the results!

This year we're upping the anty... Here's what I (with the help of my friendly assistant Tux) decided on today..

- tomatoes
- peppers
- carrots
- squash
- cucumbers
- strawberries
- lettuce
- spinach
- and a variety of herbs!

I am so excited! Now... I'm on a mission for more pots and of course all my seeds! Here's to hoping my green thumb continues to prosper!
