DIY artwork.

Y'all I can't believe I've waited this long to share this DIY project with you!
It's so simple and in my {humble} opinion SOOOOO CUTE!!

One of my very best friends just recently moved to a new place and I wanted to come up with the MOST perfect gift for her ...

She doesn't have much in the way of 'wall decor' and when my FAB stepmama and I thought of this idea we had no idea how ABSOLUTELY PERFECT it would turn out!

So here we go ...

Materials:
~ canvas {I used 2}
~ paint {we used one acrylic and one spray paint}
~ doilies {we used lots of different sizes}
~ tape {to make sure those doilies stay!}

So first you need to paint your canvas ... remembering that the base color will be the less dominant color. It will be the color that peeks through underneath!

After you finish painting and the paint has ALMOST finished drying, start arranging your doilies. We used double sided tape to tape some of the edges to be sure the spray paint wouldn't bleed underneath!

Then get your can of spray paint and go at it! I'm sure that you could use a brush, but we thought spraying would be easier!

Now make sure you pull the doilies up IMMEDIATELY ... they're so fragile that if they dry, they can rip and then you have a mess on your hands!

And that y'all is IT!! How easy?! And aren't they adorable?!!?

Here they are hanging in my bestie's house!

Happy Weekend Y'all!

{DIY} menu board

This weekend was a pretty relaxing one for me and the Mr ... Always a good thing!

Sometime in between naps, some baking, and a Super Bowl Party ... I started feeling all crafty ...

I must admit that I saw this idea on the world wide web, but of course didn't bookmark the link so I have NO idea now WHERE I actually found it ...

{if the idea is yours PLEASE let me know so I can give you proper credit!}

Using all things I had at home ... I created this ...

I'm using it as a menu board, but it could be the perfect message board, grocery list, or to-do list!

All you need is an old frame, a piece of scrapbook paper and a glue stick!

That's ALL ... I swear!

Oh and a dry erase marker {or in my case a chalkboard pen}

I ripped off the backing of the picture ... Then I traced the foam piece that came out of the frame onto my scrapbook paper ... Cut it to size, glue it down and place it back in the frame!

How simple? Literally took me less than 5 minutes and I love it!

It's the perfect place to write down our menu for the week ... That way we never have to ask "what's for dinner?" Plus it keeps us on track with our menu and our grocery budget!

And it looks really cute on my counter! :)

Happy Tuesday Y'all!
