Sunday, April 17

after the storm.

Today I had a witty post prepared for your reading pleasure but instead I need to talk about something that is weighing heavy on my heart at the moment ...

Yesterday, a storm that had already ransacked Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, and several other Southern states ripped through North Carolina yesterday afternoon ...

A total of 62 tornados were reported in my home-state ... The worst storm in over 2 decades ...

Homes and businesses were destroyed, cars were overturned on the highway, lives were lost ...

So today I need your help ...
I need your thoughts and prayers for the people of NC and surrounding states whose lives were left in shambles by this violent storm ...

The people who have no home to return to ...

The people who lost a loved one ...

The people left to clean up the pieces ...

These are the people that are on my mind today.

I'll be praying right along with you, Lauren! I lived in NC for 5 years, and still have friends and family in the state. Thankfully, all are well with the exception of some uprooted trees and home damage, all of which, in time, can be repaired or replaced. The devastation that continues to emerge, though, is truly mind-boggling. Thanks for bringing attention to this through your post!

On my mind too, we had horrible storms and tornadoes as well here in Virginia. We had to take cover for about 30 minutes in the bathroom Saturday afternoon. Luckily we had no major damage like NC. I will definitely keep all of those people in my prayers and thoughts!
